I’Researcher, writer & yogi passionate about Regeneration, technology and wellness

My Mission

I am on a pursuit to understand the role of Web3 in global climate action efforts.

Born in Moscow, Russia, I have a passion for an open and equitable world through responsible use of digital tech. I write about, teach and manage projects on global and local implications of blockchain and the regenerative finance (ReFi) movement. My area of research revolves around the intersection of web3 and climate as well as global governance of blockchain adoption. I look at the role of state, market actors and civil society in the technological and climate discourse. I am also interested in the ideological debate on decentralized technology and impacts of blockchain on climate crisis and global power structures.

The goal of my work is to cut through “the hype” and make sense of the fast-paced growth of the ReFi ecosystem while highlighting the voices that have historically been overlooked. I strive to achieve this goal through research and engagement with the diverse stakeholders from policymakers and international organizations to grassroots movements and digital spaces.

Experience

ReFi DAO

I’m a contributor to ReFi DAO’s content guild where I write newsletters (ReFi Roundups) on web3 and climate developments.

World Economic Forum (WEF) Crypto Sustainability Coalition

I served on the WEF’s working group on web3 and climate action. As the result of 6+ months of interviews with ReFi industry leaders and experts and survey data collection, we published a white paper on blockchain for scaling climate action.

UC Santa Barbara & Blockchain Acceleration Foundation (BAF)

Being a graduate student, I do research and fieldwork of regenerative systems and climate tech. As a Teaching Assistant, I prepare teaching materials, lead three weekly upper division discussion sections of 20 students each (in person and remotely), grade and track records of approximately 100 students a quarter. As an instructor at UCSB Extension School, I developed and taught a multidisciplinary and critical course on blockchain as a social force in society. As an impact fellow at BAF, I organized and hosted online educational events with the leaders of Web3 and ReFi.

Blockchain at UCSB & Graduate Student Association

2019-2021 (Santa Barbara, CA)

At Blockchain at UCSB, I was responsible for developing and organizing educational and marketing materials for club events. While at GSA, I developed email and social media campaigns for 3000+ graduate students and the university, as well as organized graduate student events of over 400 people.

United Nations & Global Citizen

2017-2018 (New York, NY)

I was involved in the international organizations and non-profit work. At the UN, I attended and covered high-level UN meetings, side events, informal consultations, and wrote reports on UN meetings. While at Global Citizen, I managed, composed, scheduled social media campaign posts with the reach of over 80K daily users as well as compiled and edited monthly donor reports for major foundations and individual donors.
